Hansen & Rosenthal (H&R) is a global player in chemical-pharmaceutical specialty products, supported by a long tradition of entrepreneurship dating back to 1919. The group employs around 2,000 people worldwide and operates through 50 subsidiaries, complemented by two own specialty refineries in Germany and three partner refineries across the globe.
Working with raw materials from four sources, fossil, bio-based, synthesised and recycled, H&R supplies more than 800 solutions used in everyday life, serving over 100 industries.
Main Task
Hansen & Rosenthal (H&R) will primarily participate in WP5 on pre-commercial product development. Within this work, H&R will contribute to defining the specifications of NOVA’s products for tyre and rubber components, characterising lignin-derived fractions, and assessing the feasibility of both light and heavy oils in these applications. Their main motivation is to substitute current fossil feedstocks, and SPLENDOR offers an excellent opportunity to evaluate HTL technology for biomass within a well-established supply chain.
